Robert McCaull papers, 1870-1904 (bulk 1870-1876)

Primarily a collection of correspondence, circulars and ephemera. The correspondence discusses the organization of new Iowa granges, cooperative agreements with farm implement manufacturers, and issues related to the Greenback political movement. Correspondents include William Duane Wilson, secretary of the Iowa State Grange and editor of the Iowa Homestead and Western Farm Journal and O.H. Kelley, founder and secreatry of the Order of the Patrons of Husbandry National Grange. In addition to the correspondence related to Grange matters the collection also includes letters related to private business transactions with George Atkinson of Chicago, Illinois and several communications received or sent by McCaull's sons James, Samuel and William.
